Do Like the Stars!

You’ve got the dress, you’ve got the accessories but what are you going to do about your hair? Should you make an appointment at the salon or do it yourself? Either way, make sure you choose a style you love and do your research!

Pick a style that coordinates with your dress. Formal dresses scream up-do while a more elegant dress may earn a French twist. There are millions of options on what you can do with your hair- messy up-do’s, braids, curly, half up-do’s, ponytails, straight etc. Determining your face shape can help you determine what looks best on you. Round faces usually look best with an up-do to accentuate your features and lengthen the face. While pulling your hair back into a French twist half up-do may be your best bet if you have a smaller face. If you have a longer oval face a half up-do or loose curls can help frame the face giving a more romantic and sexy look.

The best places to look for hair-styles are in magazines or on the internet. There are countless Celebrity looks to choose from. If you are doing it yourself, there are different guides you can follow to practice your style. Or if you are going to a stylist, you can clip photos right out of the magazine or print them off the internet. Having a clear picture of the style you want helps your hairdresser see your vision for your hair better. This causes less questions and a shorter time in the chair at the salon.

Once you have chosen a few looks, practice doing them yourself leading up to prom night. There is nothing worse than frantically running around the house looking for hair products to help style your third hair-do of the night with your date waiting downstairs awkwardly with your parents. Even if you aren’t going to do it yourself the night of prom, practicing can give you an idea of what you will look like with your favorite celeb’s style. Stylists are professionals and have the good stuff when it comes to tools and sprays so they can secure your style all night long.
